Turning TikTok Sounds into iPhone Ringtones: A Step-by-Step Guide
TikTok is the epicenter of viral audio. Whether it's a catchy song remix or a hilarious voiceover, you might want to take that audio and make it your custom iPhone ringtone or alarm clock. Because iOS is a bit restrictive, it requires a few specific steps.
Step 1: Get the Audio File
First, you need to extract the audio from the TikTok video.
- Copy the link of the TikTok video.
- Go to CoraClip and paste the link.
- Download the MP4 file to your iPhone (save it to the Files app).
- Use a free online converter or an app to convert that MP4 into an MP3, or simply keep the MP4 if you are using GarageBand.
Step 2: Use GarageBand for iOS
Apple requires ringtones to be in a specific format, and the easiest way to do this without a Mac is using the free GarageBand app on your iPhone.
- Open GarageBand and create a new project (select Audio Recorder).
- Tap the Tracks view icon.
- Tap the Loop icon in the top right, go to the Files tab, and browse for the video/audio file you downloaded via CoraClip.
- Drag and drop the file onto the timeline.
- Trim the audio to exactly the 30-second snippet you want.
- Tap the downward arrow in the top left and select My Songs to save it.
Step 3: Export as Ringtone
- Long-press the saved project in GarageBand.
- Select Share.
- Choose Ringtone.
- Name your ringtone and hit Export.
- Once exported, choose "Use sound as..." and set it as your Standard Ringtone or assign it to a specific contact!
